Off Site Marketing
So what are all these things? Well, in quick terms, pay-per-click is just that, you place your advert somewhere (generally using Google AdWords) and each time someone clicks on it, you pay. Depending on the level of competition this might be a small amount or a large amount. Off-site marketing can be done in a variety of ways, but simply put, you’d purchase/rent ad space on other websites to place a link to your own website.
Remarketing, sometimes known as retargeting, is quite subtle but very effective. The easiest way of explaining it is by an example. Have you ever been on a website, looking for something to buy, let’s say, a pair of shoes. You then leave the website and carry on with your day, soon you’re on another website, maybe Facebook, maybe somewhere else and you see an advert for the very shoes you were looking at there in front of you. That is remarketing, it’s reminding you to go back and buy those shoes – and it’s very effective!
